The Influence of Human and Institutional Capacity Development: Indonesia Program toward Education in Banten Province

Banten is a province that is growing and continues to improve its quality as a province near the capital of the State of Indonesia, Jakarta. The development of the province focuses on several areas that are being cultivated to become a model province typical offerings. One of the fields being worked by every government service is the field of education.
In Banten province, public education is still not equitable, seen by the small number of community participation for continuing education to higher education, especially to college in all districts and cities in Banten Province. On this basis the participation of all parties needed to resolve the problems of education in the province of Banten.
Apart from government, educational institutions must also have a role in responding to this problem. One way is to increase human resources the teachers at all levels of education, especially in higher education. As an assistant lecturer at universities and lecturers in private universities in the offerings, I highly appreciate the development of education in the offerings, but there are some things I still want to continue to help to develop it. I really hope to learn to see the developed countries in the implementation of education, both system and human resources.
The training program offered by USAID into concrete solutions for our professors who want to continue to develop our capabilities in the area. We hope to get a lot of knowledge and experience after undergoing our master of education program in the United States, let alone America is one among the developed countries which have very good education. This is extremely helpful for us who come from areas to be able to join in this training program.
In addition, the solution that I want to offer after joining this training program is to establish an institution or community improvement and development of skills of teachers and lecturers in the province of Banten, which facilitates the teaching staff to be able to improve their ability in their respective fields. If possible, they also can continue their education levels to master and doctorate programs in foreign universities for free to also participate in this program.
In conclusion, this training program is very influential for my future and sustainability of the province of Banten. Because now I continue to be a pioneer in improving education in the province of offerings including control of government policy in the budget for education. I continue to open cooperation with various parties to help us in the province where the Jawara to power so we could enjoy a proper education like everyone else. We very sincerely hope to join in this training to realize the dream of our great.

Interfaith Dialogue; World religion and Spirituality

A religion is a system of human thought which usually includes a set of narratives, symbols, beliefs and practices that give meaning to the practitioner's experiences of life through reference to a higher power, deity or deities, or ultimate truth. (www.wikipedia.org). Religion is one of the uniqueness subjects to be discussed in whole era and area. More than 20 religions in the world developed speedy. This matter is caused by a lot of people who is seeking truth and finding faith. The spirituality journey is rightful authority for everyone; they have dominance to choose faith, but when they were seeking truth, they asked to everyone, and sometimes when they met someone who has have a religion, their faith was denied, caused their faith was different. Actually, they didn`t know where the best religion is. As a consequence, interfaith conflict will happen. This is the interfaith problem that we should solve.

Many problems happened in the past about interfaith conflict in the world, but actually the case is unimportant thing for some people. Interfaith conflicts in the world are inconclusive, such as, mid-east conflict between Palestine and Israel, case in Xinjiang-China, etc. I think a lot of problems are unfinished in the world. These problems caused miss-understanding between religions in the world. They just claimed each other’s without understanding. Their reasons were not reasonable to claim someone.

By looking this problem, we have to think about how to solve. Before giving solutions, we should know motives why did they do. This matter might be happened by miss-communication and understanding each faithful. They didn`t know faith doctrine each religions. In other side, there is no interfaith dialogue intensively as one of places to interlace relationship. So, the solution is how we can make a lot of places to discuss and dialogue interfaith. In addition, we can also make a community in the world that is organized by new generation to help another interfaith community in the world.

Finally, if I were an elected official in my country, I want to propose to make “The Institute of Interfaith Forum” in the world. I will open branch in each countries so that my vision and mission to help interfaith reconciliation. I know that I will face on barriers in championing this proposal in my country, a lot of young people who want to join this event. They have also pretension to be elected. I have known that this one is the biggest opportunity to opening minds to the world. I trust all barriers that will be faced in this competition, will make me to get better result. I believe my proposal about my pretention to help interfaith reconciliation and interfaith conflict in the world become good reason to choose me as participant in inaugural Summit in London in February 2010. All of matters in this proposal are needed by a lot people in the world, this is public requirement. I will know if my proposal has been successful or not from how far my confidence to get this challenge.

ENGLISH PROGRAMS FOR INTERNATIONALS

Actually, if only I had been selected and accepted in this program, I could not have improved my English skill. I got a lot of benefits by joining this program. English Programs for Internationals of USC (University of South Carolina) is the best program that I`ve ever followed. I can`t compare this program with another program, because I think it can gain my personality wise.

In addition, after finishing this program, I might be changed to become good personal in all matter. I learned all about cultures and learned how to respect the difference. I knew all about the differences in the United States of America, especially in South Carolina. There are many differences that I knew, such as; religion, culture, custom, life style, etc.

Because of joining this program, I feel more self confidence and to be own master. In my opinion, after following this program, I will face on the life optimistically.

As I said in the first that I got benefits by joining this program. During following this program, I felt that my language capacity is going to increase. I got different methods and techniques in learning English. I followed three classes that supported by professional teacher. They had patience to teach us details and they were very friendly. I felt that they were not only my teacher, but also my friend, my sister, my brother, my father and my mother. I enjoyed with them. I learned English proficiency in three classes. There are; Grammar/Writing Class, Reading/Vocabulary Class and Listening/Speaking Class. Now, I feel my language capacity will be better.

There are many pluses of this program. During I followed the time schedule; I was not only learning English, but also getting new information and travelling. I got enrichment culture lecture, we have manager who always pay attention us, and her name is Kelly Anastes. Above all about facilities, we got a comfortable place that make me can learn seriously and enjoyable.

Actually, this program is a good opportunity for us. Every student can take a part in this program and can enjoy joining this program. I am really happy in this program. I think that it too difficult to explain about the pluses of this program, because I felt a lot of pluses from this program.

In addition, between IELSP and EPI USC are very brilliant ideas to improve my English skill. They gave me opportunity to learn about language, culture, custom and etc.

I think the future of this program is very bright. I hope the information about this program should be spread evenly to every Island in Indonesia. The most important is the future of Alumni this program (IELSP). I hope IIEF or IIE also think about it. How about our next study after this program? Maybe IIEF or IIE give special offering to Alumni of this program to study Magister in Abroad.  Actually, I say thank you to all of people whom concerned in this program. May Allah bless you.!

The Ideal Family

There is much the ideal family in the world at present. The ideal family should have a good relationship, good financial management, good health and good lifestyle. To have an ideal family, we should manage our relationship, financial, health and lifestyle. These points can help us to have an ideal family.
First of all, good relationship is required in the family, because the relationship is the key to make our family will be ideal. Starting by managing the communication between husband and wife, parents and children and also family and neighbor. The children should respect to their parents. Maybe when they speak, their voice shouldn`t be loudly to their parents, and the parents also respect to the children.
In addition, the most important also to make an ideal family is how to manage financial. This is very important, because most of people couldn`t do it. They can start by managing the outcome. To manage the outcome, they should see their income, and they can compare their income and outcome. They don`t over when buy on shopping, and buy what they need.
Then, the ideal family also can keep health. They care with their health, because health is the expensive heritage for them. They have a medical note for each member of family. They control their medical experience. They always consult with the doctor. They keep clean their environment.
After that, the ideal family can be looked with their lifestyle. They are very simple when wear clothes. They are not sad when they just have a bad model of clothes, and they are not arrogant if they have a good model of clothes. They always make simple everything, because they want to show an ideal family. They are very polite when speak or do activities, and they also keep pay attention to everyone.
In conclusion, to become the ideal family, we should keep our relationship, financial, health and lifestyle. We can be a good model for the next ideal family if we want, because we can learn from everyone to become the ideal family.

The Youth; Main Agent of Change

The ASEAN Community is a place where a dream of future will come. A dream to build a better life for everyone and to make a good relationship among the members of ASEAN. To support this purpose we need many supporting aspects that can make a good goal. One of supporting aspect is the youth; because we need their role to help this program.

The youth is the main agent of change. Make a change in all aspects and all situations. We need a change to face the ASEAN Community 2015 significantly, and the youth can do any changes that they have, for example to socialize about ASEAN (The Association of Southeast Asian Nations). They can explain about the challenges by ASEAN Community 2015. At least, there are two aspects of changing that can do by the youth. These aspects maybe can help to success ASEAN Community 2015.

At the first is to make a change in collaboration. We need all ten countries to work together in building the ASEAN Community 2015, and all countries agree to collaborate one another. We agree to keep our country together from terrorist, pirates and drugs come to ruin our countries. We also agree to open work opportunity in any ASEAN country, and the most important thing is doing global exchange students to open opportunity among the ASEAN country. This activity can help all students and youth in any ASEAN country work together and learn together about each culture and anything that they have. By doing this activity, we can support ASEAN Community 2015.

In addition, we can invite the investors to come in any ASEAN country to invest and to open the opportunity in all aspects. The youth can help this activity by promotion each own country. They can come to some companies to offer a cooperative or collaboration that can do. As we attract more investors, businessman will grow and there will be more jobs and opportunities. Our quality of life will improve. We will have access to high tech innovation and become connected to the world. These are our goal to make ASEAN community 2015. We will make a community as well as Uni-Europe. ASEAN country will come as a strong power in the world, and bring a new face, face of change and face of spirit to build a dream of future.

The youth is also having a strategic role as social control. To control social environment, the youth should have bravery to solve any problem that are faced on. Every youth in ASEAN country should agree to collaborate building ASEAN together, together in one, one in together. The youth can do Investing in Sound Business Environment. Any entities must prefer to operate in a stable and secure communities, healthy & competent workforce and prosperous consumers and investors. Also in an environment of open, rule-based, predictable and non-discriminatory systems and a non-corrupt and well-governed economy. And also can do Harnessing new business opportunities in developing new products, services & innovations, or embrace economic of scales, & other embedded opportunities & competitiveness

The second aspect is to make a change in ability. By ASEAN community 2015, we need some abilities to support this program and to have by the youth. The most important thing is language. We are not only enough has one language, but also we should have more than 3 languages or maybe can speak any ASEAN country language. They can explain and introduce all things by speaking multi-language. Although international language is English, but we are also learn all languages, especially for ASEAN country.

Furthermore, language is a tool to express our thought, ideas and creativity. We cannot express our thought, ideas and creativity without language skill. We need language to negotiate to offer some business opportunities to another country in different language. The role of youth is very needed to support our goal by ASEAN Community 2015. The youth in every country, especially in ASEAN, they should know what ability that they should have. We have to believe that ASEAN community 2015 will success with the role of youth.

In addition, learning another ASEAN language is one of simple things to start to support ASEAN Community 2015. The youth can also make friends with young people from other ASEAN countries. The youth can also find out more about the region`s history. The youth should show identity as an ASEAN citizen.

These aspects are simple things to start by the youth in any ASEAN country. As the youth, we have to know our dream in building ASEAN community 2015. This dream is not only for some people, but also a dream for everyone in the ASEAN country. Above all for Indonesia, this community is a good opportunity to show our existence in ASEAN country. We can show our existence in leadership and all aspects in ASEAN. Above all the office of ASEAN in Jakarta, so this is a good opportunity to lead ASEAN country.

1. Apakah IELSP itu?

Indonesia English Language Study Program adalah program beasiswa yang menawarkan kesempatan untuk mengikuti kursus Bahasa Inggris di universitas-universitas di Amerika Serikat selama 8 (delapan) minggu.

Program ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan Bahasa Inggris peserta, khususnya dalam English for Academic Purposes. Selain itu, peserta akan memiliki kesempatan untuk mempelajari secara langsung kebudayaan dan masyarakat Amerika Serikat karena peserta akan mengikuti program immersion dalam kelas internasional dimana mereka akan bergabung dengan peserta lain dari berbagai bangsa dan negara. Dalam program ini, peserta tidak hanya akan belajar Bahasa Inggris, namun juga akan mengikuti berbagai program kultural yang akan memberikan pengalaman yang sangat berharga.

1. Kapan batas waktu pendaftaran?

Untuk Gelombang VII, formulir yang telah dilengkapi dan disertai oleh dokumen persyaratan harus diterima oleh IIEF paling lambat tanggal 12 November 2009.

1. Apakah saya harus sudah memiliki paspor dan visa Amerika Serikat sebelum mendaftar?

Seseorang tidak perlu sudah memiliki paspor dan visa Amerika Serikat untuk bisa mendaftar. Jika terpilih, peserta akan diberikan waktu untuk mengurus paspor. Visa Amerika Serikat akan diurus oleh IIEF sebelum keberangkatan. Perhatian: Penerima beasiswa dijadualkan untuk berangkat ke Amerika Serikat pada bulan Mei/Juni 2010. (catatan: keputusan hasil seleksi tidak dapat diganggu gugat)
